Antman & the wasp : quantumania

Overview: Having not worked with Territory for a while, we were brought in to help with the work overload at the end of this funtastic project. We had worked on Marvel before but as with each film it required a completely different approach.

Our main role within this was to take the Celestium Hologram Controls under our wing and bring it to fruition. Designs were already signed off by the client, so exisitng 2D assets / concepts were at hand. Our job was to take these into 3D, rebuild them, offer varations, texture, place in scene and animate.

Early iterations looked great but stepped away a tad from the early designs the clients had already seen. We needed to blend both our variations with those already set up.

We moved forward by creating a template 3D model in which the other controls could be derived from. With help from my good friend Ferdi, we really pushed the creative forward and ended up with some very cool hologram designs. Whilst GHM&D animated and began placing within specific shots, we also needed to adapt and create new elements that were shot and story specific. These fun little varations allowed us to further our stamp on the project (such as the power guage asset seen in the thumbnail).

Since we only had a month on the job before heading off to Qatar, we left the holograms in the teams very capable hands. Assured that the work we had done was in a good place with only adaptations and amends required.

Our other task on the film was to make amends to the ‘bridge controls’. These were already built within C4d, but needed some aesthetic tweaks, as well as re-animation. This was a fun little start to the project as it allowed us to get to know the workflow, style and contribute straight away.

To see these in action please take a look at the reel from Territory below as well as stills to show them off in finer detail.
